ANTHEM 1

Munich (GER), 2020

„Soft light streams through the windows and touches the delicate threads. Silence and clarity slowly merge. The days pass and time stands still. Slow motion – I see my fingers working. They work their way forward, further and further, picking up one thread after another. Nothing distracts, everything concentrates on the moment.

A moment that sounds. The whirring of silence has its own song.“

During the lock-down in Munich Constanza Camila had the opportunity to work on the textile „Anthem 1“. It reflects the unique quality of this specific time. For setting up a loom and for the actual weaving process a time free of distraction offers the optimal atmosphere to create intuitive fabrics. In order to give more freedom to intuition and the process of creation, she has resorted to the collage technique and transferred it into the textile context. This way the flow of intuitive creation can be maintained until the end to determine the final form of the artwork from the moment.
