BIOGRAPHY

Constanza Camila Kramer Garfias holds a Master of Arts in Conceptual Textiles from the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art in Germany. In 2017 and 2018, she traveled to Japan to live with and learn from Japanese dyeing masters about traditional and ancient techniques for creating natural colors with plants. In her Munich laboratory, she experiments with materials on her tufting machine and develops unique Jacquard fabrics with manufacturers in Como/Italy. Due to her interest in combining her artistic work with philosophical theories, she studied philosophy for two semesters at the Ludwig Maximilians University during the Covid period.

Constanza Camila Kramer Garfias's jacquard artwork from the HYPERISM (2019) project earned one of four Honorable Mention Awards from the prestigious International KOGEI Award 2020 and was presented in the esteemed Arts and Design Museum of Toyama/Japan. Her works were exhibited internationally at the ART BASEL Miami Beach, at Gallery Kendra Jayne Patrick in Bern/Switzerland, and in local shows like the Chilean Conexíon Festival in Berlin and Galerie Wolfgang Jahn in Munich.
